    PeerBuddies is excited to announce Social Skills Groups, set to launch this October 2014. Individuals with special needs (ages 4-19) will be paired with same-aged, intrinsically motivated Peer Buddies who teach them social skills in the community. Dyads are supervised by trained UCSB Facilitators, and the program is supervised by PeerBuddies founder/director, Elika Shahrestani, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (B.C.B.A.) with over 12 years experience working with individuals with special needs. The program lasts for 8 weeks and meets on Sundays at Tucker’s Grove Park in Santa Barbara, CA. Each week, we will have a different themes that target essential social skills, including good sportsmanship, perspective-taking, how to respond to bullies, conversational skills, hygiene, and empathy.
